How it works
The surface of our teeth has millions of microscopic pores and through multiple factors, organic compounds penetrate these pores creating discolouration. The process of whitening teeth is two-fold, we use a Hydrogen Peroxide gel and a Blue LED cold light to penetrate this build-up. The gel breaks down into oxygen molecules which then penetrate through the enamel layer to the dentin – and infiltrates the microscopic pores.
These pores can experience a build-up of organic compounds for several reasons including eating, smoking, drug use, grinding and trauma, and general wear and tear that comes as a result of age.
Clearing this blockage is what facilitates whiter teeth, and this is not to be confused with the effects of tooth dehydration. Further to this, it’s important to have two sessions to reap the full reward of this treatment as opposed to only tapping into the minimal and limited effects of tooth dehydration.
