GP Support
GP’s must provide us with an order to infuse.
This page is intended for GPs and other registered Medical Practitioners about how Dripclub may facilitate provision of medications to their patients under their care for iron deficiencies. Patients may not seek these services independently without referral, prescriptions and blood tests from you as their GP.
GP Referral/Order to Infuse
For this treatment, you must be the referring medical practitioner.
Dripclub offers a professional third-party service to GPs for their patients where the medical practitioner may not have the facilities to perform infusion services at their own GP practices. The infusions are performed by Dripclub under the GP’s Order and remain under the care and supervision of their GP for their iron deficiency.
You must provide an order to infuse letter containing:
The words “please infuse on my order”.
A statement by you as the GP that you will remain the supervising doctor in relation to the ongoing care and investigation relating to the treatment of your iron deficiency for the Patient.
Instruction about the route and administration of the medication.
As the Supervising GP, you will need to:
Provide the Patient with a prescription, which they will need to fill and provide to Dripclub staff prior to infusion.
Ensure you as the prescribing practitioner and referring/ordering practitioner include your registration number and clinic details on the referral/order.
Ensure the patient’s name is the same on both the medication and the referral/order.
Provide relevant patient medical history.
Provide a copy of the full blood work up results
The order to infuse must be the Dripclub form, not a standard referral form.
Without all of the requirements completed in full, Dripclub is unable to provide the service.
All of the documentation will need to be received and verified by a Dripclub Team member prior to confirming an Iron Infusion appointment for the patient.
